This cycle we worked on DW. We finished the whole book. We also did virtual programming with Mr.Sid. But we will spend most of next cycle working on our final project. The project I am doing is in Alice the version is 2.2. Alice is a virtual 3D program. Alice makes it easy to create a story to share on the web. Alice was created for students to get used to 3D programming. Alice was created at the University of VA. In order to use Alice you have to be creative. This program has many different characters and other objects in the folders that you can use. There is no way that you can create a boring story in this program. This program is similar to some that make cartoons and other animated things. In my project I’m going to be creating a mummy scene where the king is being resurrected. And the queen is bringing him back to life. This program isn’t that easy to work with but it can be fun. You can learn a lot from this program. Alice can help you with the basic skills needed for other 3D programing software. Things I will learn in this project are skills needed for future programs.  Alice can lead you to other advanced programs similar to it. You can make a lot of money if you know how to use the advanced programs. For example you can make TV shows and commercials. TV stations will pay you a lot of money if your creations meet qualifications. You can also get paid from big businesses for making them good commercials for them. I am going to have about a week to do this project and I’ve started a little rough draft of it and if this is approved I will work off of my rough draft and give it some enhancements. Once I am done with my Dream Weaver I will have a lot more time to work on my independent project.

This cycle we learned about Dream Weaver. It is a website building program. It is very easy to work with at first it was a bit confusing then you get used to it. We did many projects in the program. It is very interesting and when you finish the website comes together very well. We also did computer configuration with Mr.Sid. That was an interesting task it was very difficult in the beginning but as we went along it got easier. The virtual configuration is much easier than the hands on one.    

cycle9 networking

We learned a lot about network and networking. We learned the different topology's.The different ones we learned about are star, ring, bus, mesh and tree. We also learned about client servers and peer to peer servers. It can be confusing but it helps when we work together as a group when learning about this. There are many things you have to know inorder to understand networking. There are many vocab words to learn. We learned about LAN and WAN networks. They are two different types of networks LAN is smaller than WAN.

We started to learn about a program called Visual Basic. To me it is a little confusing but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. So far we have done about 3 projects. I like it better when we work together and go step by step because it helps me understand the program a lot better. There are many codes to this program, it kinda reminds me about Java Script. To me these two programs are similar. I would like to learn how to use this program a lot better.

This cycle we learned how to create a data base, query, form and report. We did a lot of work in access for example step by step and checkpoints. We also did Alice. Access was my favorite part of the cycle because it is easy to use. I am happy the cycle got extended because it gives me a chance to go over my work.

This cycle in IST we learned how to use excel. We used the Vlookup and Daverage. We also learned a lot of new vocab words. We took a quiz I think i did okay on it. We did programming logic we talked about it we had to do review questions. We did many exercises on it and we did a big packet on the topic. We did excel databases and more. Step by step apply your knowledge make it right and extend your knowledge were all the activities we had to do for excel. We took another quiz and test i think i did well on them.

This cycle was our first cycle in shop. We learned about some new things. But we knew most of it from last year. For example excel, we learned two new formulas. The two formulas we learned was vlookup and hlookup. It makes coming to conclusions easier. We also learned new vocab this cycle. The classes were very mellow and they went by fast. We got a lot of work done this cycle. At first it was complicated but as we went along it got easier.
